Our Story

Welcome to Luther Hardware, where a deep-rooted history meets a passion for the future. For over a century, our store has been a cornerstone of the community, serving the residents of Luther and the surrounding areas since 1901. We believe every job and experience has prepared us for this unique opportunity to continue the legacy of this historic hardware store.

In 2021, we, the Kolbenschlag family, became the proud owners of this local landmark. We were inspired by the hometown feel and historical charm of the building and its strong connection to the community. We've poured our hearts into revitalizing the store, making significant updates to the building, and greatly expanding our inventory to serve you better. We're a small family with a strong belief in integrity, hard work, and keeping it simple. We're dedicated to honoring the legacy of past owners, like the LeGrande and Shaw families, while creating a welcoming and helpful experience for every person who walks through our doors.

Outside, our lumber yard provides a wide selection of lumber, sacked concrete, and other building materials. Inside, you'll find everything you need for your projects, from a large selection of screws, nails, nuts, and bolts to plumbing, tools, paint, electrical, and lawn & garden supplies. If you need something we don't have in stock, our extensive special-order options—including metal siding and metal building kits—can get you exactly what you need at a competitive rate.
